An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Head Over Heels, the 1979 Joan Micklin Silver romantic break-up black comedy ("Love does strange things to people. And Charles is a little strange to start with."; "Based on the novel 'Chilly Scenes of Winter' by Ann Beattie"; about a young man who is obsessed with his ex-girlfriend and will do virtually anything to rekindle the relationship, but not in a stalker way) starring John Heard, Mary Beth Hurt, Peter Riegert, Kenneth McMillan, and Gloria Grahame (in a memorable role as the lead character's incredibly crazy mother). The movie had originally been released as "Head Over Heels", with a "happy ending" that the studio forced on Joan Micklin Silver. Three years later she convinced the studio to re-release it with her original "bittersweet" ending (which had been cut from the previous release) under the title "Chilly Scenes of Winter", which was the title of the source novel. The movie was not successful in either version, which I think is a real shame, as it was a really different and clever movie. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
