An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) The Female, the 1924 Sam Wood silent South Africa/England adoption romantic love triangle melodrama ("From the Cynthia Stocklet Story 'Dalla, The Lion Cub'"; about a pretty South African orphan who is adopted by a wealthy man, and when she matures, he invites her to England, where he marries her, and when her husband is murdered, she is accused of the crime, because she had a boyfriend on the side!) starring Betty Compson, Warner Baxter, Noah Beery Sr., Dorothy Cumming, and Freeman Wood. Note that Warner Baxter was born in 1889, and in the early 1920s he rose to prominence in silent movies, becoming a major star of the 1920s, while he was in his 30s. He won the Oscar for Best Actor as The Cisco Kid in "In Old Arizona" in 1929, and he remained a top star throughout the 1930s! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this window card, and that was 11 years ago! Condition: good. There are stains and scuffs scattered throughout the card, more so around the edges.
