Important Added Info: Note that this is a REALLY cool item! Most Star Wars fans know that a large portion of this film was produced at Elstree Studios in London. But what few people know is that while the movie had its official U.S. and U.K. releases on May 21, 1980, there were premieres before that (the U.S. Washington, D.C. premiere was on May 17, and the "Royal premiere" in the U.K. one was on May 20). But even before that, there was a "special screening for crew members" on May 3, 1980, that the press was invited to! What is offered here is the original presskit that was given to one of the crew members who was at the premiere ("Michael")! The presskit consists of the following: the printed folder, four 8" x 10" photos with a copyright on one edge for LucasFilm Ltd. (LFL), NINETEEN supplements, including biographies of the top crew and stars, a 11" x 33" fold-out program giving full credits for the movie with a LucasFilm Ltd. (LFL) copyright on the back, and most interesting of all, the ticket that was given to "Michael" the crew member (it is printed in black and red, and it has information about the special screening, including date, time, and location, and Michael's name was written on the back). We have never seen or heard of this presskit before, or this special showing that took place two weeks before the first premiere anywhere! We would think that very few people, if any, thought to keep any of this material, especially the ticket!. Condition: good to very good. The presskit folder has a great number of creases and scuffs around the edges, with several tears. The four stills are in nice condition. The ticket has brown stains on it, but they are mostly noticeable in the bottom white area, because the ones in the top red and black area can mostly only be noticed when it is tilted to the light. The program has some stains on the cover. The supplements are mostly in nice condition, but the one with George Lucas has a brown stain in the top right corner, and the one for Gary Kurtz has brown stains at top center.
