Date Sold 2/6/2020 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 3 Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #1 (Desert Intrigue) Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Perils of Nyoka, the 1942 William Witney Northern Africa Libya Arabian desert jungle gorilla treasure hunting action adventure serial ("A Republic Serial in 15 Chapters") starring Kay Aldridge (in the title role as Nyoka Gordon; "The Serial Queen"), Clayton Moore, William 'Billy' Benedict, Lorna Gray (as Vultura), Charles Middleton, Tristram Coffin, Emil Van Horn (as Satan the Ape), and George J. Lewis NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. All three cards had pinholes in the left, with paper loss in the top left and top right, and some other wear around the edges and some smudges and scuffs scattered in the image. Overall, the cards were in good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed each card (meaning they backed each card onto a gel material) and they then performed restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the cards still look and feel like original cards (and they are!), with no backing at all. Given the cards' defects described above, the restorer did a pretty good job, but you can see signs of the defects and the restoration, but the cards display pretty well (see our super-sized images to get a good sense of exactly how each card looks now).
