She began her career performing with her then husband Ike Turner until their split in 1976, and she continued to have a tremendously successful solo career. Some of her movies include: Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, Tommy (as The Acid Queen), and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Having sold over 100 million records worldwide, Turner is one of the best-selling recording artists of all time. She received 12 Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
