An Undated (probably 1960s) Re-Release Theatrical Tri-Folded Military One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Howard Hawks' I Was a Male War Bride (released in other English-speaking countries as "You Can't Sleep Here"), the 1949 Howard Hawks post-World War II (WWII) military romantic cross-dressing screwball comedy ("From a Story by Henri Rochard"; "Produced by Sol C. Siegel"; about a provision in the military code that allowed "war brides" to accompany their husbands back home after they are discharged, and Cary Grant has married servicewoman Ann Sheridan, and he wants to take advantage of the provision, but he is not a "war bride"!) starring Cary Grant (in a cross-dressing role!), Ann Sheridan, Marion Marshall, Randy Stuart, and William Neff NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This is a military one-sheet. Military one-sheets were printed at the same time as the regular U.S. one-sheets when the movie was first released. They were made to be used on U.S. military installations. Sometimes the poster has small writing at the bottom that says "For Distribution and Use at U.S. Military Establishments Only", and sometimes they just have "Litho in U.S.A." or "Printed in U.S.A." in small letters in the lower right or lower left (most often, the ones that were used in the 1950s in the Korean War have "Litho in U.S.A.", and the ones that were used in the 1960s in the Vietnam War have "Printed in U.S.A.). This is one of the posters that says "Printed in USA". Note that this poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical machine fold) but because it would be more expensive to send flat, it will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good.
