An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Babes in Arms, the 1939 Busby Berkeley romantic juvenile let's-put-on-a-show musical ("The Big Musical Fun Show!"; "Based on the play by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart"; Mickey is the son of vaudevillians who want to put on a traveling show that will bring back vaudeville, but Mickey and Judy organize their own show, with "modern" songs, and with no money for staging, they put on an incredible show!) starring Mickey Rooney (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Judy Garland, Charles Winninger, Guy Kibbee, June Preisser, Grace Hayes, Betty Jaynes, Douglas McPhail, Rand Brooks, Leni Lynn, and Johnny Sheffield (billed as "John Sheffield"). This is one of the absolute best "let's put on a show" musicals of the 1930s or 1940s, which is not surprising, since it combines the talents of Rodgers & Hart, Busby Berkeley, and Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. The card has yellowed slightly with age. There is a pin hole in each corner that has been repaired with tape from the back and there is a small piece of duct tape on the back of the card at lower center, but it does not appear to be there for any restoration purpose.
