Laura, the classic 1944 Otto Preminger (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic love triangle crime film noir ("The story of a love that became the most fearful thing that ever happened to a woman!"; "Adapted from the novel by Vera Caspery"; about a detective investigating the death of a gorgeous woman, and he wishes he could have known her, and then it turns out she's not dead after all!) starring Gene Tierney (in the title role as Laura Hunt), Dana Andrews, Clifton Webb (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Vincent Price, Judith Anderson, and Lane Chandler

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top crossfold and tiny tears in the left half of the top horizontal fold, including two tiny tears in Tierney's upper lip. There was a clean 2" tear in Tierney's cheek running from below her eye to the bottom of her cheek. There was minor wear on the other foldlines and some tiny pinholes in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was really expertly backed by a top restorer, and the tiny tears in the top foldline described above, and the clean tear in Tierney's cheek (which had no paper loss) were restored with expert care, and the poster displays really well (see our super-sized image).
