An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Soylent Green, the classic 1973 Richard Fleischer romantic mystery science fiction (sci-fi) dystopian future thriller ("It's the year 2022... People are still the same. They'll do anything to get what they need. And they Need Soylent Green."; "People never change. They'll do anything to get what they need. And they Need Soylent Green"; "People need it... in the year 2022."; "Based upon the novel by Harry Harrison"; screenplay by Stanley R. Greenburg; produced by Walter Seltzer and Russell Thacher) starring Charlton Heston, Leigh Taylor-Young, Chuck Connors, Joseph Cotten, Brock Peters, Paula Kelly, and Edward G. Robinson (in his final movie role) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: John Solie Important Added Info: Note that this is not the "regular" six-sheet that we have auctioned a number of times over the years. There are two main differences. While it has exactly the same image and credits at the bottom, the tagline is different. The regular six-sheet has "People will do anything to get what they need. And they NEED SOYLENT GREEN." at top left and this alternate style has "people need it... in the year 2022." Also, the regular six-sheet has a solid green title, while this poster has a yellowish green title that is not a single solid color. We don't know a definitive answer on this, but one possibility is that one of the two posters was printed first, and then someone saw something about it they didn't like, and they changed it (one obvious possibility is that this one might have been printed first, and someone saw that the title wasn't very "green", and they thought a movie named "Soylent Green" should have a green title, which would explain why it is so solid green on the other one). But one thing is for certain, which is that this poster is extremely rare! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this six-sheet was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap. Condition: very good. The poster has darkening and small stains on the back of several of the pieces. It has some small tears in the border of one section. Otherwise, it is in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
