An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) It Happened One Night, the classic 1934 Frank Capra (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) runaway-heiress-with-undercover-reporter-who-are-complete-opposites-but-fall-in-love-anyway romantic screwball comedy ("Together for the first time!"; "From the Cosmopolitan Magazine story by Samuel Hopkins Adams"; "Screenplay by Robert Riskin"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Clark Gable (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Claudette Colbert (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Walter Connolly, Roscoe Karns, Alan Hale Sr., Ward Bond, and Jameson Thomas. Note that this is a wonderful movie that contains many memorable scenes (perhaps most notably when Gable "instructs" Colbert on how to hitchhike), but it is also memorable for the scene where Gable reveals that he was not wearing an undershirt, which caused undershirt sales to plunge nationwide, and they never recovered! This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the window card had pinholes, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges, with some pinholes, smudges, and stains scattered in the image. Overall, the window card was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The window card was really expertly backed by a very talented professional, but you can slightly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. But it displays wonderfully, and it will look incredibly on the new owner's wall! Learn More about condition grades
