An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 19 1/4" [36 x 49 cm]) (Learn More) Winner Take All, the 1932 Roy Del Ruth romantic love triangle boxing sports melodrama ("James Cagney at his best in 'Winner Take All'"; "He knocks Cupid for a row of hearts!";"A Knockout"; the age old story of a boxer who has a "good" girlfriend, but then, when he hits the big time, he is seduced by a very "bad" girl) starring James Cagney, Marian Nixon, Guy Kibbee, Dickie Moore, Virginia Bruce, Clarence Muse, and Ralf Harolde NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this window card, and that was 16 years ago, when it sold for $3,550! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 19 1/4" [36 x 49 cm]. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: good. Someone trimmed off 2 3/4" of the blank top. The card has a tear in the middle of Cagney's hair, a tear in the word "RUTH" in the credits, a tear in the left of the top border that extends into the green background, and an uneven tear in the upper right green background that extends into the middle of the globe. Someone put a piece of tape on the back of each of those tears. There is also a tear in the top right that is in the top of the "Y" of "CAGNEY" and extends up in a "Y" shape into the "A" of "HEARTS" and into the exclamation point, and that does not have tape on the back. There are tack holes around the edges. There is water staining in the top of the card that extends into the top tagline area and the green background. Other than the exact defects described above, the card is in surprisingly nice condition, and it has very bright colors. Any talented restorer can repair these defects (with or without backing the card), and after proper restoration, the card will display wonderfully on the new owner's wall, and it will have only small amounts of paint restoration scattered in those exact areas described above.
