An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Sign of the Claw, the 1926 B. Reeves Eason silent adventure melodrama ("The miracle dog of the movies"; "The season's greatest photoplay novelty") starring Peter the Great (the German Shepherd dog), Edward Hearn, Ethel Shannon, Joseph Bennett, and Lee Shumway. Note that Peter the Great appeared in six movies between 1922 and 1926 (the first two were shorts). We don't know why he retired after that. It might have been from getting old, or he might not have been able to adjust to sound movies (perhaps his bark was not as good as his bite). If anyone knows more about Peter the Great, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a scene lobby card from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this title card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good. The card was folded down the middle, but it is not very noticeable from the front. It has pinholes in the corners and tiny paper loss in the center of the top and bottom borders. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
