An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Cecil B. DeMille's The Greatest Show on Earth, the classic 1952 Cecil B. DeMille (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award) big top circus romantic love triangle melodrama ("Produced with the cooperation of Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus"; "Mightiest Motion Pictures"; "Story by Fredric M. Frank, Theodore St. John, and Frank Cavett"; "Screenplay by Fredric M. Frank, Barre Lyndon and Theodore St. John"; "The Most Dangerous Place In The World... For Lovers To Meet!"; "Actually filmed under the big top!"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Betty Hutton, Cornel Wilde (as The Great Sebastian), Charlton Heston, Dorothy Lamour, Gloria Grahame, James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart), Henry Wilcoxon, Lyle Bettger, Lawrence Tierney, Emmett Kelly (the real-life circus clown, perhaps the most famous one ever, in a cameo role, as himself!), Cucciola, Antoinette Concello, John Kellogg, John Ridgeley, Frank Wilcox, Bob Carson, Lillian Albertson, Julia Faye, and John Ringling North (in a cameo role as himself) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections, but that the theater that used this poster taped the two pieces together before putting them on display (this is typical of many actual theater-used three-sheets). Also note that the collector who owned this poster chose to roll it up, rather than attempt to fold it (no doubt he was influenced by the fact that the two sections were glued together, and they would have had to be separated prior to folding. This rolling has resulted in extra creases scattered throughout the poster. The poster will be sent rolled in a long tube, and cannot be folded. Condition: poor. The collector who owned this poster THOUGHT he was doing a good thing by putting scotch tape on the back of every foldline (mostly just for reinforcement). But he did not know that over time that tape would both turn a yellow color and bleed through to the front, and there is now tape bleed through throughout the poster. It is not super dark and not super distracting, but it is certainly extremely noticeable, and can only be restored by doing paint restoration to the front of the poster. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept this very significant defect and can display the poster as it is, or are prepared to pay for the extensive restoration it will require.
