An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Ed Thorgersen's Sports Reviews, the circa 1939 stock poster ("Described by Ed Thorgersen"; "Photographed by America's ace sports cameramen") for the sports documentary short series narrated by Ed Thorgersen. Thorgersen was a famous sports announcer in the early days of radio and a commentator for Fox Movietone News. The one-sheet poster has artwork of announcer Ed Thorgersen with a microphone, and also has horse racing and football in the background. If anyone knows more about this series, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the foldlines. It had some pinholes and stains around the edges. It had staining scattered in the top quarter of the poster in both the letters of the title and the blue background. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer chose to paint over the letters of the title and paint the blue background behind the letters to "even them out", but the poster displays pretty well (see our super-sized image).
