An Original Paperback Book (measures 5 1/4" x 7 1/4" [13 x 18 cm]; 128 pages) (Learn More) Swamp Hoyden, the 1951 Jack Woodford & John B. Thompson romantic crime mystery sexploitation novel ("They spoke of her in whispers!"; "Men chased her, charmed her, cheated her... but she outfoxed them all!"; "Strange things were happening..."). Note that an un-revised version of this book was first released under the title Sincerely Yours. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a collection of 20 sexploitation paperback books from between 1948 and 1953, which we were consigned, and are auctioning in 20 separate auctions. In the past, we have auctioned a number of similar paperback books from the repressed 1950s and 1960s, but those were regular paperbacks that measured close to 4 1/2" x 6 3/4", while these earlier ones are larger and measure approximately 5 1/4" x 7 1/2". Both types are from the days when "respectable" people had few outlets for non-traditional sexual desires, and these "sleaze" paperbacks covered those subjects in depth! They always had lurid covers, and they were often sold "under the counter" (where you had to ask for them). The sexual revolution of the late 1960s made these books pretty irrelevant, but they are a fascinating reminder of repressed sexual attitudes of the 1960s and earlier! NOTE THAT THESE PAPERBACKS FROM THE LATE 1940S AND EARLY 1950S ARE FAR MORE RARE THAN THOSE FROM THE LATER 1950S AND 1960S! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the back cover, and the interior page that shows the publishing information. Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
