Zanuck) starring Myrna Loy, Tyrone Power Jr., George Brent, Brenda Joyce, Nigel Bruce, Maria Ouspenskaya, Joseph Schildkraut, Mary Nash, Jane Darwell, Marjorie Rambeau, Henry Travers, and H.B. Warner. Note that this movie was remade in 1955 as "The Rains of Ranchipur" starring Lana Turner. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked, but not in the usual way (which is an alternate form of restoration that is similar to linenbacking, but involves backing the poster onto Japanese rice paper). THIS poster HAS been mounted onto Japanese rice paper, but it appears that it was done so in preparation to having the poster linenbacked, but that (for unknown reasons) the owner of this poster did not have the job finished, so the poster has solely been mounted on thin Japanese rice paper. There also has been no restoration done to the poster (it would have been done after the poster and paper were mounted on linen). Any talented restorer could certainly go ahead and linenback this poster (either using the current rice paper, or re-backing the poster onto different rice paper first), and after proper linenbacking and restoration to the poster's defects, it will look great! But because the poster is currently mounted onto a thin rice paper, it is fragile, and of course, will need to be sent rolled in a tube (but the poster is somewhat protected by the extra 1" border of rice paper on all four sides). Please do not bid on this poster unless you have read the above carefully! Condition: good. The poster was mounted on a thin Japanese rice paper . Approximately 1/2" was trimmed from the bottom blank border (blank white paper only). The poster had paper loss at the crossfolds and in some other areas of the vertical foldline and a much lesser amount on the horizontal fold. There were some creases, tears, and areas of paper loss in the borders. There were some creases, smudges, and stains throughout the poster. NO RESTORATION OF ANY KIND HAS BEEN DONE TO THIS POSTER! Any talented restorer could certainly go ahead and linenback this poster (either using the current rice paper, or re-backing the poster onto different rice paper first), and after proper linenbacking and restoration to the poster's defects, it will look great! Please do not bid on this poster unless you have read the above carefully! Learn More about condition grades
