An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Nude on the Moon, the 1962 Doris Wishman science fiction (sci-fi) outer space exploration sexploitation fantasy melodrama ("And the heavens brought forth the wonder of woman!"; "A truly different adventure to take you OUT OF THIS WORLD!"; "In Beautiful EASTMAN COLOR"; "Man Discovers A NATURE CAMP On The MOON!"; about a rich rocket scientist who organizes an expedition to the moon, which his team discovers is inhabited by nude women!) starring Lester Brown, Marietta, William Mayer, Ira Magee, and Doc Severinsen (yes, this is the famous band leader from the Johnny Carson TV show!; how and why he ended up in this movie is likely a fascinating story, especially because this was his first movie appearance, and he was in no other movies for over 10 years afterwards; if anyone knows more about his appearance in this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here!). Note that most fans of sexploitation movies consider this poster to be the "Holy Grail" of sexploitation movie posters, for a variety of reasons! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was found in 2007 at a printer that printed many movie posters in the 1950s and 1960s, and which had gone out of business. They had kept samples of many of the movie posters they had printed over the years, and they were stored unfolded, and since they had been taken straight off the press, the samples were in exceptional unfolded condition! Most of the titles that were discovered in this find were very uninteresting (this printer did not print for major studios, but only for minor ones and independents), but included among these printer samples was this poster! As noted above, this poster is considered the "Holy Grail" of sexploitation movie posters, and it is unfolded and in wonderful condition! Note that in 2020 full-size reproductions of this poster have begun to appear on eBay. Like repros of Star Wars one-sheets and others, they are not marked as repros, and they are being offered as originals. However they can be distinguished from originals because of different paper and differences in printing quality. The one-sheet offered here is guaranteed to be a 1961 original! Note that in recent months we started auctioning a wonderful collection of sexploitation one-sheets that includes many extremely rare titles from a single collector, and that collection includes lots of folded one-sheets, but also rolled one-sheets, special posters, and some other posters as well. This month there are 76 different rolled posters (all are in separate auctions), and they include a number of posters that we have only auctioned once or twice before. There are also a number with great images or taglines. This is an excellent opportunity to add one or more of these rare rolled posters to your collection, and this consignor only had one of each title, so on the rare ones, it may be quite some time before we offer the same title again! Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has some creases and smudges in the lower left blank border and in the upper right blank border with very minor wear in the rest of the borders.
