Date Sold 11/25/2008Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (11x14; LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Steamboat Bill Jr. (released in some English-speaking countries as "Steamboat Bill Junior"), the classic 1928 Charles Reisner & Buster Keaton romantic father-son sailing ship adventure comedy (about a long lost son who returns to his tough, gruff sailor father, and he is initially a great disappointment to him) starring Buster Keaton (in the title role as William Canfield Jr.), Ernest Torrence, Tom McGuire, Tom Lewis, and Marion Byron. Note that this is the movie that includes the classic sequence of Buster Keaton in a hurricane, where the front of a house frame falls on top of him, and the window from the second floor saves him from death! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. There is a 1/2" tear near the center of the top blank border. There is some very faint water staining scattered throughout the card, but it really only shows in the white background areas (you see it much better on the back of the card). If I owned this wonderful card, I would either display it exactly as it is, or possibly give it to a professional to extremely lightly bleach it, so as to remove the faint water staining, but either way, it will look incredible on anyone's wall!
