An Original 1946 (from the first release of this movie in Denmark) Vintage Theatrical Danish Movie Program (measures 4 3/4" x 6 1/4" [12 x 16 cm]; 10 pages) (Learn More) The Lady Eve, the classic 1941 Preston Sturges romantic gambling con man idle rich mistaken identity screwball comedy ("Barbara Stanwyck has Henry Fonda Bewitched and Bewildered in The Lady Eve"; "Barbara's Got Henry Falling For Her!..."; "Oops! There He Goes Again!"; "He Down For The Third Time..."; "Right into Barbara's arms... she's got him now - and does he love it!"; "Another Preston Sturges Hit!"; "This miss's kiss is packed with blisses! Should I run or make her Mrs.? Trouble is. She reminisces. What a dizzy Eden this is!"; "Screenplay based on a story by Monckton Hoffe"; "Written and directed by Preston Sturges"; about a nerdy anthropologist on an ocean liner voyage, who gets swindled by an old gambler/cheat and his beautiful daughter, and later, she tries to do it again by impersonating a completely different woman, but he is sure she is the woman he met before) starring Barbara Stanwyck, Henry Fonda, Charles Coburn, Eugene Pallette, Martha O'Driscoll, William Demarest, Eric Blore, Janet Beecher, Melville Cooper, and Robert Greig. Note that the credit "Screenplay based on a story by Monckton Hoffe" sounds reminiscent of a W.C. Fields credit for himself under a wacky pseudonym, but actually, Monckton Hoffe is a real man, who was an Irish playwright, who worked in Hollywood mostly in the late 1920s through the early 1940s, but "The Lady Eve" is far and away his most famous credit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that sometimes large theaters in Denmark at this time would have a special added set of covers (4 pages on a single sheet) printed and bound to the outside of the regular program, giving information about their specific theater, including a seating chart of the theater on the back cover. This is one of those programs that has the additional covers for the local theater. The entire regular program is bound within it, and of course, one could simply remove the outer covers, if they wanted to. We have photographed the regular cover of the program, rather than the one for the local theater, because that of course is what most collectors want to see. Also note that we have pictured the front and back covers and an interior 2-page spread from this program. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
