An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Roll Along, the 1923 Scott Sidney silent Educational Pictures comedy short ("Christie Comedies") starring Jimmie Adams (as Rastus Jones), Natalie Joyce (as Mandy), William Irving (as Suwanee Sam), Babe London (as Sistah Dinah), and Ward Caulfield (as Mammy). Talk about politically incorrect! This "comedy" has white actors in blackface playing the worst kinds of racial stereotypes (in one lobby card, a "black" suitor offers her a bouquet of cotton, picked from the field). Thankfully, this is a dim part of film history, but it is fascinating! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
