An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Clipped Wings, the 1953 Edward Bernds military Air Force airplane aviation pilot comedy ("The wild blue yonder is real craaazy, man!") starring The Bowery Boys (billed as "Leo Gorcey and the Bowery Boys", including Leo Gorcey and Huntz Hall), June Vincent, Renie Riano, Anne Kimbell, and Bernard Gorcey (as Louie Dambrowski). Note that Bernard Gorcey was star Leo Gorcey's father, and he played Louie, the owner of the Sweet Shop, where the boys frequently hung out, and Louie was often involved in slapstick gags, and many times Leo Gorcey would be tormenting or slapping his own father! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the bottom crossfold and tiny paper loss at the other two crossfolds. It had a 3" tear starting in Hall's chin and going into his jacket. It had some creases and small stains near parts of some folds, and pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
