Bright Victory (released in other English-speaking countries as "Lights Out"), the 1951 Mark Robson romantic blindness post-World War II veteran race relations melodrama ("Based on the best-selling book 'Lights Out' a novel by Baynard Kendrick"; "The love story of today's generation!"; "The great living love story of today's generation!"; about a soldier who is blinded in World War II, and who returns home and realizes his former fiance no longer wants him, and in rehab, he makes a best friend who is black, and he doesn't realize it, but he is a Southerner whose family is prejudiced, and he falls in love with his nurse, and everything works out pretty well!) starring Arthur Kennedy (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Peggy Dow, James Edwards, Will Geer, John Hudson, Julie Adams (billed as "Julia Adams"), and Jim Backus
