Date Sold 11/22/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 7 3/4" x 9 1/2" [20 x 24 cm]) (Learn More) The Outlook was "a Weekly Newspaper and An Illustrated Monthly Magazine in one"! It was published weekly from 1870 to 1935. Each issue contained articles about important current issues and reviews of important current books. For the first 23 years, it was published as "The Christian Union", and it was heavily focused on religious matters, and in 1893, it became "The Outlook", and it became a more general magazine, but with in depth articles of a scholarly nature. The only two issues we have auctioned are both from 1905 and one has an article entitled "Is the Negro Disenfranchised?" and the other has an article about "The Money Power in College Athletics", and of course, both those issues are still being discussed today. Important Added Info: As noted above, we are currently auctioning two issues of this magazine, and they are the only two issues we have ever auctioned. This issue has an article entitled "The Money Power in College Athletics"! Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: very good. Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
