An 1959 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded German "A1" Movie Poster (measures 23" x 33" [58 x 84 cm]) (Learn More)

La Strada (released in the U.S. in 1956 as "La Strada [The Road]"), the 1954 Federico Fellini Italian romantic love triangle circus melodrama ("Filmed in Italy - Where it happened! In English!"; Academy Award Winner 'Best Foreign Picture'; about a brutish strongman in a traveling circus, who virtually buys a young woman to work as his assistant, and they have a complicated relationship, which is even more complicated by a handsome trapeze performer they run into) starring Anthony Quinn (billed as "Academy Award Winner Anthony Quinn"), Giulietta Masina, Richard Basehart, Aldo Silvani, Marcella Rovere, Livia Venturini, and Gustavo Giorgi. Note that Fellini had been a screenwriter since 1942 and a director since 1950, with great success, but it was THIS movie which gave him worldwide acclaim and started him on his road to being one of the world's greatest directors. This movie is considered his first masterpiece, and along with La Dolce Vita and 8 1/2, it is one of the movies that he is best remembered for!

Condition: good to very good. There is paper loss in the lower left edge of the poster near the title area that has been neatly repaired with paper and tape from the back and some paint from the front. There is minor separation at the top crossfold and there are a few 1" and smaller tears around the edges of the poster (repaired with tape from the back). The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition.
