3 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More)

Pardon Us, the 1931 James Parrott escaped convicts screwball crime comedy ("The world has been waiting for Their First Full Length Talking Picture!"; "They made their first mistake when they tried to sell liquor to a policeman!"; with dialogue written by H.M. Walker, and produced by Hal Roach) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy; in their first full length talking picture), June Marlowe, Wilfred Lucas, Walter Long, James Finlayson, and Otto Fries. Note that this movie was a feature-length parody of the previous year's box office hit, "The Big House"!

Important Added Info: Note that this set of stills (which is one of six early Laurel and Hardy titles we are currently auctioning in six separate auctions) comes to us from the collection of Johnny Crawford, who first came to fame as the son in the TV series "The Rifleman" and later became a band leader loved movies, and early on he collected many movie stills and more. This set of 8x10 stills was apparently purchased by Mr. Crawford in a collection with other 1920s and early 1930s stills that had been used at a theater called the "BJ Nickolodeon", which stamped "Property of the BJ Nickelodeon" on the back of most of their stills. Early Laurel and Hardy stills from the fist release of the movies are incredibly rare! Note also that each still has a paper snipe on the back giving information about the scene on the front and on those snipes the movie is referred to as "The Rap" which is the working title for this movie!

Condition: very good to fine. The stills have very slight darkening in the extreme outer edges of the blank borders but are otherwise in really nice condition.
