An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Swedish Personality Poster (measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/4") (Learn More) Bob Hope (born Leslie Townes Hope) was an English-born top Hollywood comedian and actor from the 1930s to the 1990s. He was briefly a boxer in his youth (as Packy East), and that is where he acquired his distinctive ski-shaped nose. Some of his movies include: Story of G.I. Joe, The Cat and the Canary, The Ghost Breakers, My Favorite Blonde, and the "Road" movies he made with Bing Crosby and Dorothy Lamour, including Road to Morocco. In spite of his great success, Hope never won an Oscar, although he hosted several of the Oscar telecasts! Hope was also well known outside of movies, especially for his entertaining of U.S. troops overseas, for his charity golf tournament, and his many hostings of the Oscar ceremonies. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 100. Artist: Rohman Important Added Info: Note that this is a Swedish personality poster that would have been sent to Swedish theaters in the 1940s, and they would have displayed the poster whenever they showed a Bob Hope movie! This poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical machine fold) but because it would be more expensive to send flat, it will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. There are water stains along both foldlines, and around the edges of the poster. This is the sort of poster that likely responds really well to restoration, as the water staining likely can be removed with light bleaching. After proper linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look fantastic, and there will likely be little restoration anywhere on the poster. Learn More about condition grades
