An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Alfonso D'Artega (often known simply as D'Artega) was a Mexican songwriter, conductor, arranger, and actor from the 1940s to the 1950s. He wrote and co-wrote over 50 songs including "In the Blue of the Evening", which became a number one hit for the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra in 1943. He is perhaps best remembered for composing the "NBC Chimes Theme". He passed away in 1998 at the age of 90. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by D'Artega! Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm]. Finally, note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! Note that this item was consigned to us by a man who has been a major movie memorabilia dealer from the 1970s on. During that time, he would regularly purchase collections of movie memorabilia from both dealers and collectors, and in some of those collections he purchased autographed items. Both we and our consignor feel it is extremely likely that the autograph on this item is authentic, but he does not have a certificate of authenticity. Condition: good to very good.
