(Learn More) Deborah Kerr (rhymes with 'star'!) was a Scottish actress from the 1940s to the 1980s. She had a quick rise to stardom in England in the early 1940s, and was in many movies there. She went to Hollywood in the early 1950s, and had some of her greatest successes during that decade, unusual at that time for an actress in her 30s (but she had aged REALLY well!). Some of her movies include: Edward My Son (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), An Affair to Remember, The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, Black Narcissus, From Here To Eternity (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Innocents, Separate Tables (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Sundowners (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Heaven Knows Mr. Allison (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), King Solomon's Mines, and The King and I (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film). She passed away in 2007 at the age of 86. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Deborah Kerr! Our consignor was a freelance journalist in the 1970s and 1980s, and he wrote a long letter to Miss Kerr when she was about to appear on stage, and he asked her in his letter if he could go backstage after the show. She left him a letter at the box office and it said "Of course come back stage for a moment after tonight's performance"! He did, and he met her in person. He saved the letter she wrote to him and it will be sent to the high bidder on this auction, together with a stage magazine with her on the cover that was connected to that performance.
