An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) This Marriage Business, the 1938 Christy Cabanne romantic wedding comedy (a cute premise of a marriage license clerk who discovers that none of the people he married over 20 years have gotten divorced!; the press discovers this and publicizes it, so naturally, all couples want to be married by him; the movie then becomes much more conventional with the clerk running for mayor, and people trying to frame him for crimes so he can't win) starring Victor Moore, Allan 'Rocky' Lane, Vicki Lester, Cecil Kellaway and Jack Carson NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor fold and border wear. It had a diagonal scratch running between the faces of the two stars and many tiny areas of surface paper loss in the man's face, with a few in the bottom of the woman's hair, and a few scattered in the upper left. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer either did not touch up the tiny surface paper loss described above, or it was acquired after the poster was backed. Certainly, a talented restorer could touch up those areas without re-backing the poster, but bear this in mind before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
