Tarzan first appeared in the novel Tarzan of the Apes (magazine publication in 1912 and book publication in 1914). He is depicted as a feral child raised in the African jungles by the great apes who later experiences civilization only to largely reject it and return to the wild as a heroic adventurer. The character has appeared in practically every form of media, including at least 100 movies starting in 1914, plus comic books, comic strips, TV shows, and much more! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that offered is a French album that was likely sold to those who bought Coop Swiss chocolat, which was a tie-in to one or more of the 1940s Sol Lesser RKO Tarzan movies. They would be given stickers with each purchase, and then they would put them in the appropriate places in this album (just like with cigarette card albums; see our images). We have never seen this unusual album before. Condition: fair to good. 24 of the stickers are missing. There are small stains and tears around the edges of the pages (see our images).
