An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" [8 x 8 cm]) (Learn More)

Stephen Steps Out, the 1923 Joseph Henabery silent ill-behaved-school-boy-goes-to-Turkey-and-becomes-a-hero adventure comedy (based on Richard Harding Davis' story "The Grand Cross of the Crescent"; about a schoolboy who fails Turkish history in college, and his rich father both sends him to Turkey to learn history there, and also fires the professor who failed him, and the boy becomes a Turkish hero and gets his professor back his job!) starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr. (in the title role; in his first credited movie, after an uncredited performance in his father's "The Three Musketeers" two years earlier!), Theodore Roberts, Noah Beery Sr., Harry Myers and Frank Currier. Note that star Douglas Fairbanks Jr. was just 14 when the movie was made, and yet he plays a college boy (of course, the fact that his father was Douglas Fairbanks Sr. likely had nothing to do with him getting a starring role in his first real movie at age 14!). Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see!

Condition: very good to fine.
