Date Sold 4/16/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's The Man Who Knew Too Much, the 1956 Alfred Hitchcock Morocco/London kidnapping spy espionage conspiracy crime thriller ("Alfred Hitchcock's greatest suspense Adventure!"; "The flash of a knife... the crash of cymbals! Cues for murder - excitement - suspense!"; "A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing!"; "Based on a story by Charles Bennett and D.B. Wyndham Lewis"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes") starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart), Doris Day, Brenda De Banzie, Bernard Miles, Ralph Truman, Daniel Gelin, Reggie Nalder, Richard Wattis, Alexis Bobrinskoy, and Christopher Olsen. Note that this is a re-make of Hitchcock's 1934 English film of the same name, but with quite a few differences and it includes Doris Day singing "Que Sera, Sera", which became a huge hit! The poster had minor wear on the folds. It had pinholes and tape stains in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but there was paper loss in the bottom right corner that affected the last number of the NSS number, and the restorer mistakenly put a "9" where he should have put a "3". Obviously, one could choose to live with this or choose to have it corrected through further restoration. Otherwise, the poster displays well, but bear the above in mind before bidding. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
