She was a leading actress at Warner Bros. in the 1930s, and then she quit the movies in 1941 (during that time, she was an acting coach at Columbia Studios), but returned in 1946, and successfully transitioned to older roles, and continued acting on stage and in the movies and on television for many years. Some of her movies include: Nevada Smith, North By Northwest, and Son of Frankenstein. She passed away in 1998 at the age of 94. Important Added Info: Note that these stills all feature a specific actor or actress (sometimes portraits, but often in a scene from a movie that they were in). They come from the collection of Ken Jones, who was an author of many books about old-time actors, including many character actors.
