Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Through the Breakers, the 1928 Joseph C. Boyle silent South Seas tropical island seafaring romantic love triangle melodrama ("A romance as warm as the tropical winds of its setting!"; "From the Play by Owen Davis"; about a London socialite who loves a man who is assigned to be a plantation manager on a South Seas island, and she agrees to join him after a year, but she puts it off, and then she is shipwrecked on the island, and an island girl there is in love with him, but when he dumps her for his London sweetheart, the island girl is killed by her native lover, who then kills himself as well, and that causes the London lady to decide to stay!) starring Margaret Livingston (best remembered for her role as the "bad" city woman in "Sunrise"), Holmes Herbert, Clyde Cook, Natalie Joyce, and Frank Hagney NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster is linenbacked; prior to restoration the poster had separation, creases, tiny tears, smudges, and tiny paper loss on some foldlines (most notably down the vertical fold and across the middle foldline) and tiny paper loss at some crossfolds; there were small tears, small paper loss, creases, and smudges around the edges of the poster; there were smudges in many of the light blue background areas; the poster was well linenbacked and much of the borders were either painted or had new paper placed over them (the border restoration was expert, and I think most people would not realize it had been done if it were not pointed out to them) and the flaws within the image were minimized during the backing process, but they can still be seen from close up, and are somewhat noticeable even from a distance away; Overall, the poster has had a fair amount of restoration, but it looks nice, and does not have a look or feel of heavy restoration.
