An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #5 (Jungle Vengeance) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Edgar Rice Burroughs' Jungle Girl, the 1941 John English & William Witney jungle native tribe adventure serial ("A Republic Serial in 15 Chapters"; "Based on the famous novel 'Jungle Girl' by Edgar Rice Burroughs") starring Frances Gifford (in the title role as Nyoka Meredith, the Jungle Girl), Tom Neal, Gerald Mohr, Trevor Bardette, Eddie Acuff, Frank Lackteen, Tommy Cook, and Emil Van Horn (as the gorilla). Note that Ray 'Crash' Corrigan and Charles Gemora were two actors who played lots of gorillas in movies in the 1930s and 1940s. Emil Van Horn played around a dozen gorillas, and interestingly, that was all he did (no doubt he too owned a gorilla suit!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and small tears, tiny paper loss, creases, and scuffs on parts of several folds, with pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
