Die Czardasfurstin (released in the U.S. in 1935 as "The Csardas Princess"), the 1934 Georg Jacoby German romantic musical melodrama (about a famous opera singer who is in love with a prince, but she gets offered a contract singing in America, and she has to choose) starring Martha Eggerth, Hans Sohnker, Paul Kemp, Inge List, and Paul Horbiger

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned a poster from this movie as "pre-War" movie posters from Germany are virtually nonexistent (it seems likely that most were destroyed during the huge paper shortages that occurred during World War II). Because this poster lacks text (including credits and title) except for the studio, it may have been a printer's test (a printing created to be reviewed by studio execs for approval), or it may be an export poster that was intentionally left blank so that other countries could print the title and credits in a language other than German. Also, note also that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this German movie!

UPDATED 04/21/2017: Note that a knowledgeable collector identified this previously unknown film, and we have updated the auction accordingly.

Condition: poor. The poster is in much lesser condition. There are several defects scattered along the edges and foldlines/crossfolds and there are several significant areas of foldline and crossfold separation (the poster is completely separated along several folds and it is currently in six pieces). The poster paper itself has become somewhat brittle with age, making the poster difficult to handle without creating further fold and edge damage. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
