An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Chapter #17 (The Final Reckoning) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28" x 41" [71 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) King of the Circus, the 1920 J.P. McGowan Universal silent circus adventure serial ("Oh, Boy! What A Thriller!!"; "The Greatest Serial of All Time"; "It's a Universal!") starring Eddie Polo, Corrine Porter, Kittoria Beveridge, Harry Madison, Charles Fortune, and J.P. McGowan. Note that oddly we could not find anything about this serial, beyond the cast. The rare one-sheets we have auctioned have great images, both with circus themes and with underwater chase scenes, so we would love to know more about this serial. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this is a "lost" serial film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that until four months ago we had never auctioned a poster from this serial. At that time we were consigned three chapter one-sheets.. We auctioned one in July and it sold for $975. We auctioned the second in September and it sold for $765. Now we are auctioning the third and last one, and we have no more, and it may be many years before we see another poster of any kind from this movie! Condition: very good. The poster has two tears to the right and left of the the upper and lower crossfolds (see our image). There is separation and paper loss at the top crossfold with a few other small tears, and there is lesser separation and small paper loss at the bottom crossfold. It has some creases and tiny tears along portions of the blank borders only. There are a few tiny creases and bits of paper loss in the upper vertical foldline and in the upper horizontal fold to a lesser extent. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition, and after linenbacking with some restoration to the above, the very rare poster will display really well! Learn More about condition grades
