A 1975 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27 1/4" x 41") (Learn More) Manson, the 1973 Robert Hendrickson & Laurence Merrick AIP documentary (about Charles Manson and his kids; compiled from interviews with the Manson kids; "Meet one man's family revealed for the first time outside the courtroom -- the staggering details of the most hideously bizarre murders in the annals of crime suppressed until now and not permitted on TV, radio or family newspapers!"; "The terrifying truth behind the Tate-La Bianca massacre!"; "Told in their own words by the killers themselves!"; "Horrifying and unbelievably shocking") featuring documentary footage of Charles Manson, Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme, Leslie Van Houten, Tex Watson, Robert Beausoleil, and Bruce Davis. Note that there were many people in the U.S., and particularly in California, where the murders occurred, who did not want this movie released, and it had a pretty limited release. We have seen a single Italian poster that proves it was released in Italy, but we don't know that it was ever released in any other countries outside the U.S. (the IMDb says it was also released in the Netherlands in 1973). In 1975, the movie was re-released to capitalize on the then-current notoriety of Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, who had tried to assassinate President Gerald Ford, and she was prominently pictured on that re-release poster, with the tagline "The girl who pointed the gun at the President". Even worse, the distributor cleverly printed the words "BANNED IN CALIFORNIA", on the top of the poster, making it look like a snipe, but it is actually printed on the poster, and we highly doubt it was actually banned! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this movie was re-released in 1975 to capitalize on the then-current notoriety of Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, who had tried to assassinate President Gerald Ford ("The girl who pointed the gun at the President"), and she is prominently pictured on this re-release poster. Also note that this one-sheet measures 27 1/4" x 41". We have also seen a poster similar to this, except that it measures 28" x 42", and has "BANNED IN CALIFORNIA" printed on the poster. Condition: good. There is a 7" uneven tear in the bottom right corner, but it is entirely in the white background above the credits. There are many creases in the top and bottom of the right border.
