An Original Vintage Linenbacked World War I Poster (measures 18" x 24" [46 x 61 cm]) (Learn More) Buffalo Never Fails, the circa 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) Home Front poster ("A Buffalo Mother's Representative 'Over There'"; "United War Work Campaign") featuring an image of a soldier tending to a wounded soldier and a mother tending to her son. Given that the poster was printed by the "Hayes Litho Co. Buffalo N.Y.", we would imagine this was a locally created poster referring to the mothers of Buffalo, New York! Given that this poster was likely only distributed in the Buffalo area, we would assume it may well be far more rare than other World War I posters (and someone wrote "RARE" in pencil in the bottom right corner of the excess linen!). If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: Alex O. Levy Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a few small tears in the borders and a 1" tear near the center of the bottom border. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
