An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 13 1/2" x 21 1/4" [34 x 54 cm]) (Learn More) The Love Light, the 1921 Frances Marion silent World War I (WWI) Italy romantic melodrama (about an Italian woman who falls in love with a man she thinks is a shipwrecked American, but he turns out to be a German spy) starring Mary Pickford, Evelyn Dumo, Raymond Bloomer, Fred Thomson (in his first movie!), and Albert Prisco. Note that Fred Thomson was a major silent cowboy star (along with Tom Mix), but he is forgotten today, because he tragically died of tetanus just when sound movies started. Surely there should be a film biography of his life (perhaps Johnny Depp could play the lead role!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1921 movie paper from this Mary Pickford movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single poster (only a glass slide, two stills, and a lobby card) from this movie until we received this window card! Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Finally, note that the window card measures 13 1/2" x 21 1/4", but it is not trimmed. This was a time when the size of window cards was not yet completely standardized. Condition: good to very good. The card had pinholes, tears, and some detached small pieces around the edges, with tiny paper loss in the top blank corners, with just a few pinholes within the image. Someone put brown paper tape on the back of the above defects and then performed slight restoration from the front of the card. You can clearly see where the restoration was, but it is not very distracting at all (especially because most of it is around the edges, and the card displays well (see our image).
