Date Sold 10/30/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Monster From the Ocean Floor, the 1954 Wyott Ordung ocean octopus monster scuba diving underwater horror thriller ("Terror strikes! ...from beneath the sea!"; "Terror strikes from beneath the sea!"; "Up from the forbidden depths comes A Tidal Wave Of Terror!"; "See... Fierce battle with man-eating shark!"; "See... monster creature of atomic age!"; produced by Roger Corman) starring Anne Kimbell, Stuart Wade, Dick Pinner, Wyott Ordung, and Inez Palange. Note that the octopus-like monster in this movie (like virtually all 1950s monsters) is strangely attracted to beautiful women in skimpy outfits. What do the monsters do with the girls after they catch them? NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this half-sheet, and only one in the last 16 years (and it sold for $625)! Also note that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has smudges, creases, pinholes and creases and tiny tears along portions of some edges with a larger tear in the center right edge. The upper edge was folded back at one time. Someone backed the corners and the tear at right (and a smaller one at top) with white cloth tape (and there is also some older brown paper tape on back of that tear). The image area has only a few light and fine creases and is otherwise in pretty nice condition. One can display the rare poster as is, or after having some restoration performed it would look great!
