Dr. Christian Meets the Women, the 1940 William C. McGann medical doctor melodrama (one in the "Doctor Christian" series of movies) starring Jean Hersholt (in the title role as Doctor Paul Christian; a much-liked actor who made 142 movies, mostly between the middle 1910s and the early 1940s; he is surely best remembered today for his many humanitarian deeds, including helping found the Motion Picture Relief Fund, and his name is attached to one of the most prestigious Academy Awards, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award), Dorothy Lovett, Edgar Kennedy, Rod La Rocque, Frank Albertson, and Veda Ann Borg
