An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Dangerous Curves, the 1929 Lothar Mendes circus romantic love triangle melodrama ("The Inimitable Clara Bow Will Thrill You Again!"; about a pretty young girl working at the circus as a bareback rider, sometimes in full clown makeup; she is in love with the handsome trapeze artist, but he has fallen for a beautiful vamp played by an extremely young Kay Francis!) starring Clara Bow ("SEE and HEAR her talk!"), Richard Arlen, Kay Francis, David Newell, and Anders Randolf. Note that Clara Bow was the most famous "flapper girl" of the mid to late 1920s (she became known as "The It Girl" after the character she played based on the popular novel by Elinor Glyn). She had a major role in Wings, and was Paramount's biggest star at that time. But she had a notorious private life and seemingly "settled down" when she married cowboy star Rex Bell in 1931 (she had two children and she retired from movies), but sadly in 1949 she went into a mental institution after a failed suicide attempt (she had had psychiatric issues for quite some time) and she was released but never returned to her family, and lived alone until her death in 1965. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned five lobby cards from this movie, and we have only auctioned one example of this card, which shows both Clara Bow AND Kay Francis (12 years ago in a group of two cards that sold for $1,352, and this example is in much better condition!). Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. There are faint brown stains in the outer edges of each blank border, with a few tiny dot stains in the solid blue background. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition.
