An Undated (probably 1970s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian Photobusta Movie Poster (measures 18" x 26") (Learn More) Downhill Racer, the 1969 Michael Ritchie Winter Olympics skiing sports melodrama ("How fast must a man go to get from where he's at?"; "Written by James Salter"; based on the novel by Oakley Hall) starring Robert Redford, Gene Hackman, Camilla Sparv, Joe Jay Jalbert, and Tom J. Kirk. Note that early publicity items on this movie refer to it as "The Downhill Racer", yet we have never seen any poster reference it as anything other than "Downhill Racer". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster was folded down the middle. There was wear along that foldline, pinholes in the corners and some scattered tiny scuffs throughout the image. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the tiny defects, but they are really not very distracting (and any restorer could easily touch them up without re-backing the poster).
