An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Swiss Family Robinson, the 1940 Edward Ludwig shipwrecked stranded-on-a-tropical-island family adventure thriller ("Come Along to Action - Thrills and Excitement on ADVENTURE ISLAND!"; from the book of the same name by Johann David Wyss) starring Thomas Mitchell, Edna Best, Freddie Bartholomew, Terry Kilburn, Tim Holt, and Baby Bobby Quillan. Note that legend has it that when Walt Disney made their live action version of this movie in 1960, they also purchased the rights to this movie from 1940, and then destroyed all known prints, so that their version would not be compared to this! Is this urban legend or partially or completely true? Does that mean this is a "lost" film? If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: fair. There is some rippling and discoloration throughout the poster from exposure to moisture. There is much separation and tattering along the foldlines and around the edges of the poster (most repaired with tape from the back and in some areas, marker on the front). There are many pin holes scattered throughout the poster (again, repaired with tape from the back and some marker from the front).
