An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 15" x 22" [38 x 56 cm]; 6 pages) (Learn More) Dracula's Daughter, the 1936 Lambert Hillyer Universal vampire monster horror thriller ("Look Out! She'll Get You!"; "She gives you that weird feeling!"; "Based upon the Bram Stoker story 'Dracula's Guest'"; "Story suggested by Oliver Jeffries") starring Otto Kruger, Gloria Holden (in the title role as Countess Marya Zaleska), Marguerite Churchill, Edward Van Sloan (as Professor Van Helsing), Gilbert Emery, Irving Pichel, Billy Bevan (one of the better Charlie Chaplin imitators of the time), Nan Gray, Hedda Hopper, Halliwell Hobbes, Claude Allister, Edgar Norton, and E.E. Clive NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this first release pressbook, and one of them was in "very good" condition and sold for $17,500. The other one was in "good to very good" condition and sold for $1,987. Both of those were uncut. THIS example is missing its back cover, but the front cover is in pretty nice condition, and can certainly be displayed, so we leave it to bidders to decide how much the missing back cover detracts from its value. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Condition: fair to good, WITH CUTS. The back cover is missing (see above). This, of course, included most of the posters, although "two eerie 22x28s" are pictured on page 5. The pressbook was folded once in each direction, and it had extra folds near to the regular ones, and it had surface paper loss, creases, and tiny tears on parts of those folds. There were small tears and tiny bits of paper loss on the top and right of the front cover. A professional restorer did restoration to the front cover, and while you can clearly see signs of it, the cover will display really well on the new owner's wall. Obviously, this pressbook has really significant defects, but it DOES make for a great display on the new owner's wall, but please bear all of the above in mind and look closely at our super-sized images BEFORE bidding on this.
