A 1951 Re-Release (re-titled "Try and Get Me" for this re-release) Vintage Theatrical Folded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 16 1/2") (Learn More) The Sound of Fury, the 1950 Cy Endfield (billed as "Cyril Endfield") romantic crime film noir ("You must see it... Hear it... Feel it...'Shock Entertainment!'"; "An emotional explosion to blast you out of your seat!"; "Adapted for the screen by Jo Pagano from his novel, 'The Condemned'") starring Frank Lovejoy (billed together with Lloyd Bridges as "Reuniting those two wonderful guys, Mingo and Finch, from 'HOME OF THE BRAVE.'"), Kathleen Ryan, Richard Carlson, Lloyd Bridges (very young in this role!), Katherine Locke, Adele Jergens, Art Smith, Irene Vernon, and Renzo Cesana. Note that this movie premiered in December of 1950 as "The Sound of Fury", and Lloyd Bridges was fourth billed. At some point in 1951, the movie was re-titled "Try and Get Me!", and Lloyd Bridges was prominently pictured on all the posters. One possibility is that the producers simply decided this was a more effective title and ad campaign, and another possibility is that Bridges was now more prominent (he had starred in one of the first sci-fi movies, "Rocketship X-M", in 1950, and maybe that accounts for his increased prominence). We also don't know if the movie was reedited at all. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card has been trimmed and now measures 14" x 16 1/2". Condition: good. The window card originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this was commonly done with window cards, when the top had been left blank, or when someone had hand-scrawled play date information in that area). Most collectors do not consider it to be a significant defect at all, since only blank white paper is lost, and the window card becomes easier to frame. The card was folded down the middle at one time. Learn More about condition grades
