An Original Vintage Theatrical Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Free and Easy, the 1930 Edward Sedgwick Hollywood California movie making romantic musical comedy (about a Kansas girl who wins a beauty contest and her and her mother get a trip to Hollywood along with an agent who is supposed to look after her, but he actually is in love with her!) starring Buster Keaton ("His first all talking picture"), Anita Page, Trixie Friganza, Robert Montgomery, Fred Niblo, and Lionel Barrymore. Note that because a major plot point involved the leads going to Hollywood and trying to break into movies, MGM had many of their top stars appear in cameo roles during a sequence where Buster Keaton is chased through various sound stages where MGM movies were being filmed. Also note that this was Buster Keaton's first talking picture, and of course, we know that he did not have nearly the success in talkies as he had in silents, but that was caused by other reasons (he had a great speaking voice for a comedian!). Important Added Info: A talented restorer gel backed the poster (meaning they backed the poster onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the defects described below, and then removed the gel backing, so that the poster still exactly looks and feels like an original poster (and it is!), with no backing at all. The restoration was done really well, and the poster displays really well! Condition: very good. The poster was gel backed (see above). This particular poster had never been folded. It had a tear and tiny paper loss in the bottom of the "F" of "FREE" and an enlarged pinhole in the top of the first "E" of "FREE". It had enlarged pinholes in the right corners, with some creases and smudges around the edges, with a few small pinholes and tiny tears. It had a 3" tear in the left of the top border going into the brown background to the right of Keaton's head. Other than the above, the poster was in pretty nice condition prior to being restored. The poster was gel backed by a talented professional and expert restoration was performed to the above defects. The poster looks great, and best of all, it still completely looks and feels like an unrestored poster! Learn More about condition grades
