Note that the poster is both dated and has the artist's signature in the lower left! The modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years. Artist: Bill Bailey Important Added Info: Note that we realize it is easy to overlook that this is a really wonderful and very large circus poster that measures 79 3/4" x 117 3/4" (there are half-sheet sized reproductions of posters like these), but this is the very rare, and very large 79 3/4" x 117 3/4" original from 1945, that would look incredible on anyone's wall. Also, note that this circus poster was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap and this 4 piece poster has been glued together along two of the sections. Finally, note this poster was tri-folded only (which means there is one less vertical machine fold than usual). This means the poster has a significantly lesser number of folds than with posters of this size folded in the "regular" way, which is nice! Tri-folded posters of this size need to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 13" x 30", so they cost more to send than those that have been regularly folded, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses. Condition: very good. This poster has been glued together along two of the sections (meaning this 4 section poster is now in 2 sections). There are a few pieces of tape on the back of the poster, but they do not appear to be there for any restoration purpose. The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition!
