Date Sold 6/13/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]) (Learn More) Marilyn Monroe is one of the greatest larger-than-life movie stars ever of the 1950s, and surely the greatest sex symbol of all time! She appeared in several memorable movies including: Some Like It Hot, The Prince & the Showgirl, All About Eve, The Asphalt Jungle, The Misfits, The Seven Year Itch, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Monkey Business, and Niagara. The last film that she worked on was Something's Got To Give in 1962. 20th Century Fox blamed Marilyn for the production being behind schedule, and fired her in June (the film was never completed). In August, she was found dead in her home from an apparent drug overdose, and her death was ruled a suicide (though there are theories that foul play was involved, and even in 2024, many people do not feel it was an "accidental" death). Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this magazine before. Not only that, but the example offered here is the "recalled" version! It was recalled because one of the black and white full-page photos shows Marilyn with her shirt open, and you can see part of her breast, and that was considered just "too much", and the magazine was reprinted with a different image on that page, but a few of the recalled versions survive, including this one. The magazine has 32 pages, with many full-page images, and many of those are full-color. We wish we could have pictured every single page of this great magazine, because all the photos are "winners"! Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: very good. The magazine has a slight "roll" to the right 1" and some minor wear around the edges. Otherwise, the magazine is in really excellent condition (see our images)!
